Inspiration Monday : Found on the Internet
Hello sunny and not-too-cold Monday. Paris was great. As soon as I download the two photos I took, I will share. I am at a point where I really need to concentrate and carry out a few tasks that seem sort of dull. Instead, my mind keeps wandering to more seemingly fun things. Today I am posting links found around the 'net that spark my creativity. This is my last procrastination stop and then I'm off to work.
- Displaying Baby Clothes as Momentos. Came across this while searching decorating ideas for kids' rooms. I am re-arranging Andrea and Maxi's room in the coming months to give them each their individual work/play space. I think they would like seeing this as a reminder to how tiny they once were.
- Vintage Toy Collection Photo Prints. Photographing their current collections (Lego, Playmobil and Bionicles at our house) and making large prints to hang in their room.
- Make a Gift Bow from a Magazine Page. Re-purposing 101. This is a good idea for the holidays. The only drawback for me is that it seems time consuming and I rather skip bows all together.
- Design Inspiration: Splatter Effects. I love spatter in all it's forms. One of my favorite stamps is Tim Holtz's splatter stamp. There are also digital brushes, paint and misters that help make your mark.
- The 2008 Felron Annual Report. It's projects like there that reminds me that graphic design is cool, dude. (Click on the image to move to the next page.)
- Banner Love.
- More Banner Love.
- Banner. What can I say? Banners are cool.
- Lisa Mahar's House. Yes, the entire house is beautiful and functional. Her philosophy on stuff (particularly kids' stuff) makes a lot of sense. I love how she organized the playroom.
- Prize Ribbon Place Cards. Been creating a few of these on my projects.
- This Altered Book. I've never altered a book. Yet. I found this one very inspiring. Love the colors, the ink effects, the way she silhouetted the photograph.
- Be Still My Heart. Displaying collections in frames is a favorite thing of mine. I've loosened up from the perfectly straight-in-a-line hangings but not quite this loose. I like how it looks and wonder if there is a science to it.
- Wedding Invitation Love. Major source of inspiration for type treatment. This could easily be translated into nice titles on craft projects.
