A few weekends back Thierry and I got away to a chateau in the Gers thanks to our friends who gifted us this escapade almost one year ago for our fifth wedding anniversary. Thank you friends. The package included dinner and breakfast the following morning.
The first thing we did was drop our bags off in our room. There is something about Scarface-ish bathrooms that happen upon us often:
We were so giddy with the idea of being away, just the two of us, in the middle of nowhere, that the fact that it was gray and rainy was lost on us. First signs of fall were upon us and it was beautiful. The property boasted an enormous greenhouse with all types of textures and colors to look at :
There was a wedding that same night. Thierry was hell bent on crashing the party that night but finally we just crashed in our bed. Celebrations inspire me and make me feel happy:
Our room had a private garden we used as a fridge to cool the bottle cava we received as a gift at our joint birthday party. (Joint party? Yes, in another post.) That's our room with the shutters open:
(The above photo was washed out so I played with the exposure and curves in Photoshop.)
When it was time for dinner, they sat us in a room where our table had been prepared with a place card that read Monsieur et Madame Thierry Laborde. I love these little details:
After sleeping in and making plans for the end of year over breakfast, we headed back to Toulouse. Since we didn't have to pick up Andrea and Maximo until the evening, we headed to Vincent and Mariana's house for a visit:
It was journées du patrimoine . We originally planned to visit historic sites but opted for District 9. Blame the rain:
The film was surprisingly entertaining. The suspense was such that twice I had a stomach ache. No, it wasn't the popcorn. Or the sour gummies.
Date night is hands down one of my favorite traditions. Rain and all:
**Edit : Thank you Juancho for proof-reading my post. Corrections noted.

Merci Angélique.
Les photos de pieds c'est une chose que je fait souvent. Il faudra que je les unisse sur une page ou mini.
