Holiday Table Setting:

Hello Holidays. Whenever we celebrate special ocassions I like to do something that sets the gathering apart from our everyday routine. This year we are hosting a holiday dinner, so I decided to make table settings to match the holdiay decor at home. There is menu planning + preparation to be done and my parents are visitng from out-of-town so it helps that this project can be done in a short time (depending on how many place settings you need to make.) Here is how I made place settings + napkin holders for six in less than two hours:

Place settings: 1. Stamped Sassafrass Tag-a-licious stamp using the Essential Glue Pad onto a cream colored cardstock. (Instead of ink it's glue so you can adhere glitter, beads or flock to your stamped images. I recently discovered this and like it a lot!)

2. Covered stamped image with Doodlebug glitter. 3. Removed excess glitter.

4. Cut glittered frames out. Set them aside.

5. Cut six 4"x3" rectangles out of turquoise cardstock and six 4" x 3"  rectangles using Hambly's Antique White Home Decor overlay.

6. Fold the rectangles to create a 3" x 2" card.

7. Adhere the Hambly overlay card to the turquoise card. (I simply put adhesive on the center of the cardstock because I knew I would hide the adhesive once I adhered the glittered tag onto the card.) 8. Adhere glittered tag onto card.

Napkin Holders: 9. Cut six 6" x .75" strips using red cardstock and six 6" x .75" using Hambly's Antique White Home Decor overlay. 10. Place overlay stip over cardstock strip.

11. Meet up two ends of stips and staple to form a circle. Repeat with remaining strips.

12. Adhere embellishments to napkin holder. (I used Prima's Belle Fleurs in blue.) All that is left to do is to set your table! Bon Apetit :)

I will be taking a break from blogging until December 26th. Having my family here and Andrea on vacation from school makes me want to spend time doing family things in preparation for Christmas :)

When I get back I will post the rest of the photos from the Happy Hour Calendar installation as well as answer questions that I've recieved about some of the projects I've posted recently.

Until then, I wish everyone very Happy Holidays :)

Bises, Denise

Beautiful! I wish I could be sitting at that table with you! :-) I'll give you a call on Christmas. (We are getting pummeled by a winter storm right now, so we'll probably have major cabin fever by then!) My love to your parents and everyone!
